About "Kinder brauchen Frieden e.V."

Our current areas of focus are in the project countries of Croatia, Bulgaria, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, and the Democratic Repulic of Congo. Kinder brauchen Frieden e.V. (Children need peace e.V.) is committed to long-term engagement in the supported projects. We collaborate with local partners in all project countries.

Key components of our work include providing food, organizing and supporting medical care, education for school and vocational training, building and repairing homes, school feeding programs, playground construction, holiday programs, and infrastructure development (such as well drilling, etc.).

Kinder brauchen Frieden e.V. was founded in 1993 and is recognized as a non-profit organization. Currently, the association has 760 members and 327 sponsors (as of 05/2023) from Hechingen, the local area, from Germany as a whole, and even from abroad.

All work force, project managers, and board members work on a voluntary basis. Administrative cost are consistently low at around 2,5 percent of the donation income.

Through the efforts of our volunteers and local partners we ensure, that aid reaches those in need without loss.

Our primary focus is to significantly improve the living conditions of children in need worldwide. It is paramount for us to establish on-site conditions that empower children and their families to lead self-determined and secure lives, ideally within their own homelands.

We acknowledge that we single-handedly resolve all global challenges. However, the restoration of each single child's smile validates every endeavour we undertake. Central to our misson is the delivery of sustainable. We prioritize the longevity of our projects and initiatives.

Across our global endeavors, we uphold equitable partnerships with local collaborators. Our commitment extends to the long haul, while remaining agile to respond to immediate crises. Often, these efforts mark the inception of ongoing project initiatives, whether in Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Croatia, Bulgaria, or beyond.

Kinder brauchen Frieden e.V.  thrives on the commitment of many individuals who support the work of the association in various ways, including individual donors, school classes, associations, municipalities, members, sponsors, and companies. We can help because many people help us. We are very grateful for this.

As an association, we rely on flat hierarchies and short decision-making processes. We are fast. We are flexible. We are uncomplicated and direct. This allows us to guarantee that our assistance reaches the children.

Members of our project teams not only maintain regular contact with our partners on the ground but also regularly visit existing projects to coordinate necessary developments together.

Our reward is not public recognition, but the laughter of the children in our projects. They are the focus of our work – they are our motivation. We dedicate ourselves to them. And we all do this voluntarily. This also applies to many partners and supporters who provide us with professional help free of charge. This enables us to help effectively, quickly, directly, efficiently, and concretely without needing to establish a bureaucratic apparatus.
